Chris Nelson has spent his entire adult life from age of sixteen, working at and studying how to be self-sufficient and live in harmony with nature. With a love of organic gardening, plant and herbal medicine, raising perennial foods such as berries, asparagus, fruit trees, raising chickens and utilizing alternative energy sources, he strives to live with the highest respect for the Earth and the bounty she supplies.
Chris grew up in the rolling hills of middle Tennessee, lived in the mountains of New Mexico for eighteen years and the farmland of eastern Long Island for twelve years, with stop-overs in Georgia and Colorado along the way. He was a founding partner with his wife in Naturopathic Wellness Center, an alternative medicine practice including chiropractic, naturopathy, and herbal medicine, and founder of Exodus Herbs, an herbal medicine manufacturing company producing herbal formulas for natural healing and wellbeing. After thirty years as a chiropractor, Chris decided to partner with Tama and Allison, to live his dream and utilize his skill and knowledge of design, building, and other life skills, to co-create Paint Rock Farm. Paint Rock Farm allows Chris to share his passions of following Spirit, building and developing community, healing ourselves and the planet, and always being grateful for life’s beauty and joy!
